Terms of Service

TableauOps provides software for teams that operate Tableau: Sync (workbook version control with semantic XML diffs) and Scout (an always-on operations copilot that monitors your Tableau environment, detects incidents, and — where you enable it — proposes or applies fixes). We may add, change, or discontinue features over time.

You must provide accurate account information and are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. Notify us promptly at eric@tableauops.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

The Services connect to your Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server environment using credentials or connected-app secrets that you supply. You represent that you are authorized to connect those environments and to grant us the access needed to operate the Services.

• Read-only by default. Scout operates in a read-only monitoring posture unless you explicitly enable an action tier (for example, Autopilot). You control the operating mode and the scope of what the Services may do.
• Actions you authorize. When you enable an action tier, you authorize us to perform the corresponding operations against your environment (such as running a refresh or applying an approved fix) on your behalf and subject to the policies you set.

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor (Stripe) on the cadence shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing on a going-forward basis with reasonable notice; changes do not affect the current paid term. You are responsible for any taxes other than taxes on our net income. Failure to pay may result in suspension of the Services.

You agree not to:

• use the Services in violation of any law or third-party right;
• access data or systems you are not authorized to access, or connect an environment without authorization;
• probe, scan, overload, or interfere with the integrity or performance of the Services;
• reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law; or
• resell or provide the Services to third parties except as expressly permitted.

As between you and us, you retain all rights to the data and content in your Tableau environment and the metadata we process from it (“Your Data”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit Your Data solely to provide and improve the Services. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

The Services, including all software, and the TableauOps, Sync, and Scout names and logos, are owned by TableauOps LLC and its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services during your subscription, subject to these Terms. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or obligation to you.

The Services interoperate with third-party platforms — including Tableau, and processors such as Stripe — that are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any monitoring, diagnosis, or automated action will detect or resolve every issue. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups and for reviewing automated actions before relying on them.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TABLEAUOPS AND ITS OWNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

You will indemnify and hold harmless TableauOps LLC from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Services, Your Data, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

These Terms apply while you use the Services. You may stop using the Services and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Services in a way that risks harm to us or others. On termination, your right to use the Services ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and TableauOps LLC agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Utah for any dispute not subject to an alternative agreed process.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
