Privacy Policy
Last updated July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TableauOps LLC (“TableauOps”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the TableauOps websites and Services (Sync and Scout). We keep this deliberately short and specific to what we actually do.
1.Information we collect
- Account and contact information — your name, email, organization, and similar details you provide when you sign up, start a pilot, or contact us.
- Tableau environment metadata — to operate the Services, we process operational metadata from the Tableau environment you connect: job and refresh history, content names and identifiers, schedules, permission and activity-log events, and similar signals. We connect using credentials or connected-app secrets you supply.
- Billing information — payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited billing details; we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage and device data — standard analytics about how you use our site and app (for example via PostHog and Microsoft Clarity), including pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP address.
2.How we use information
- to provide, operate, monitor, and secure the Services;
- to detect incidents and — where you enable it — propose or apply fixes;
- to process payments and manage your subscription;
- to respond to you and provide support;
- to improve the Services and understand how they are used; and
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3.Credentials and secrets
Connected-app secrets and credentials you provide are encrypted at rest and used only to authenticate to your environment and perform the operations you authorize. We never expose them in the browser after you save them, and we do not sell them or share them for advertising.
4.How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Services — for example our hosting and database providers, Stripe (payments), and analytics providers — under agreements that limit their use to providing services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
5.Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Tableau activity-log events are retained subject to the limits of the source platform and our own storage windows. You can ask us to delete your account data as described below, subject to obligations that require us to retain certain records.
6.Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption of secrets at rest and scoped, least-privilege access to your environment — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7.Your choices and rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your account information by emailing privacy@tableauops.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. We will honor applicable rights and will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
8.Analytics and cookies
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect how the site works.
9.Children
The Services are for business use and are not directed to children under 18.
10.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
